Celebrate international peace, culture and friendship on GEORGIAN MARANI Day in Vejby Marani. Participate in traditional Orthodox blessing and worship ceremony, dance performance to Georgian music and enjoy Georgian delicacies and wine package from the vineyard and Georgia.
The GEORGIAN MARANI day is a party-ceremony held at Vejby Vingård in Vejbystrand, Bjäre. The party celebrates international peace, culture and friendship in a Georgian wine cellar with Qvevri clay mugs. This is a unique experience in culture, place, time and space with traditional Orthodox blessing and worship ceremony, as well as divine choral singing from Temo Potaskaevi and the Georgian Church Choir. There is also a dance performance to Georgian traditional music and delicacies from Georgia which are served together with selected sacred wine package from the vineyard and Georgia.
The Qvevri method of making wine was recognized by the UN and UNESCO as a cultural world heritage in 2013. In the Caucasus, wine has been made this way for 8000 years. The Fest ceremony at Vejby Vingård is the first of its kind in Sweden and celebrates the wine traditions at the foot of Hallandsås, from the foot of the mighty Caucasus.
Wine tasting is only available for individuals above 18 years of age. Also, smoking is strictly prohibited in the vineyard.
A warm welcome to Vejby Vingård, a Scanian family vineyard that grows piwi grapes with consideration and is certified EU organic and biodynamic by Demeter. The winery is run as a visitor destination open basically every day - so guests can book the visit at a time that suits you best. The wines are blessed by the Holy Georgian Orthodox Church and the wine cellar is a unique cultural heritage with qvevri clay mugs recognized by the UN and UNESCO. The flag flies with the Holy Cross of Bolnisi. Our Georgian connection in Vejbystrand, we stand with one foot on the sandy beach and the other foot at local mountain Hallandsås - with the perspective eastward to the foot of a mightier mountain, the Caucasus and homeland of wine. We are here to surprise. Warm welcome!
